Im-perfect Donut Progress

Fernando Barrientos is a self-taught artist from El Salvador, working with colored pencils on premium cotton paper, with the goal to recreate realistic drawings of multiple items.

His interest in photorealism started back in high school after seeing a dinner painting by Ralph Goings, depicting ketchup and mustard. He felt in love with the illusion and how easily the mind it is tricked. Since then, he has taught himself to recreate those same illusions with his own work. He draws whatever he wants (It is just a realistic drawing of an object, lots of talent and technical skills), but he believes that his subconscious is unintentionally trying to express some emotions, ideas or just let out those deeper thoughts.
